Some Updates from Dougie: 1. If any tickets are raised by people who are NOT our clients, but are customers of our resellers,do NOT reply. Move them to Accounts for me. 2. Procedure of getting transferred .uk domains into the billing account:- "You need to order a free domain transfer from our website https://secured.hosting-unlimited.net/payments/order/orderwiz.php, which will place the domain in your billing account and therefore take care of renewal and domain management. Changing the IPS TAG to EUROPENAMES is not enough - we have no way of allocating the newly-changed domain to a specific billing account without the transfer being ordered." 3. Suspension of an account: The normal procedure is that accounts are suspended after 3 days from the date invoice, but if the client does not pay after 3 more days, ALL his accounts are suspended, that is when there is an overdue of invoice all of his accounts will be suspended. about HUNSHello Team, HUNS (Hosting-Unlimited Notification System) is now operational again as from now. If any of you have not used it before, it notifies clients of server issues on a selective basis, e.g. if Nitrogen went down, notifications can be sent to just those clients who host on Nitrogen, informing them of the reason for the outage. It also places a new post on the HU forums, which will need updating by you once the server comes back on-line. Please look at http://www.hosting-unlimited.net/notify/step1.php - this is where you run it from. You can go through all steps, and test it (ONLY use the Test option on the final step though please) Please note: you must log into the forums and CLOSE the new thread which is opened after running HUNS, otherwise forum members will be able to reply to it, which we don't want. When the server is back, you should again visit the thread and add a reply to the thread, stating that normal service is now restored.
Hello Team, All service in Pan, Juliet, Delos, Cassandra are all switched off. Use the modified template: "can only deal with account holder" if the client hasn't raised the ticket from his primary contact. Thanks,
Migrating Reseller accounts including private nameserverHello, If you are migrating a reseller account, please observe these rules: Does the reseller account include 3 private IP addresses? If not, then migrate the whole reseller account. There is no DNS to update, other than nameserver information on the individual domains, but the reseller can do this in any case. Reseller does have private IPs: Firstly, migrate all of the reseller account as usual. Once this has been done please do the following: 1. Log into the new server's WHM where the reseller accounts have been migrated and click "Add a New IP Address". Once this loads please add an IP address (a list of IPs you can choose from is listed at the end of this e-mail), and make sure the 'subnet mask' is 255.255.254.0. 2. From WHM, click "Reseller Center". Then select the reseller account from the drop-down list and then click 'Manage IP Delegation'. Restrict the reseller account to the IP address you added in step 1. Go back one page and click 'Manage Main Shared/IPless IP'. Assign the new IP address that you setup in step 1 to this reseller account. 3. Back into WHM, click "Change Multiple Sites' IP Addresses". Select all accounts that are owned by the reseller and then click 'Change IPs of Selected Accounts'. From the next page, please use the drop-down list to use the IP address you selected back in step 1. 4. Log into the Master DNS Server's WHM (https://209.85.50.4:2087) and add a new IP like you did back in step 1. Please ensure the 'subnet mask' is 255.255.254.0. 5. Still in Master DNS' WHM, click "Add a DNS Zone". Type in the new IP you have just set up, then for the 'domain' field, type in NS1., where RESELLERACCOUNT.COM is the actual reseller account. This will then setup the DNS zone across the cluster. 6. Log into the Slave DNS Server's WHM (https://209.85.50.5:2087) and add a new IP like you did back in step 1. Please ensure the 'subnet mask' is 255.255.254.0. 7. Still in Slave DNS' WHM, click "Add a DNS Zone". Type in the new IP you have just set up, then for the 'domain' field, type in NS2., where RESELLERACCOUNT.COM is the actual reseller account. This will then setup the DNS zone across the cluster. 8. Do we manage the domain? If not, please advise the reseller of the new IPs allocated to their account and request that they update their nameservers with their registrar. If we do manage the domain, and it's a .co.uk domain please update the nameserver IPs at https://secured.hosting-unlimited.net/dev/ns_changes.php. The format for the nameservers (using reseller.co.uk as an example) is: Domain Name: reseller.co.uk Nameserver 1: NS1.RESELLER.CO.UK 172.198.200.100 Nameserver 2: NS2.RESELLER.CO.UK 172.198.200.101 Replace the actual IPs in the above example with the IPs you allocated to the nameservers in steps 5 & 7. If the domain is a .com or .net, log into eNom and navigate to DOMAINS -> ADVANCED TOOLS -> REGISTER A NAME SERVER. When the form loads, locate 'Update a NameServer IP' and type in nameserver, the new IP address. You will also need to include the old IP address. If you don't have access to this, please use this WHOIS: http://registrar.verisign-grs.com/whois/. You must update both nameservers! 9. Please e-mail me (at this address) to let me know which new IPs you have used, and for what purpose. This is so I can monitor IP address usage. 10. All done, please update the client of the new IPs and that we have changed their DNS and go and enjoy a cup of tea :-7 Best wishes, Kevin Austin
Hi team, I hope everybody doing fine. I had a long chat with Dougie today. He breifed me the issue -- the domain is registered when looked in our MB and doesn't show as registered in whois records --. This can happen of two situations, 1.If the client does not have a zero balance. 2. If the domain is a .uk one, and the client's postcode is wrong In the case 2) the nominet rejects since the postal code provided will be missing the space in between. (Eg, LN85JD instead of LN8 5JD.) In the first case, the payments for the client can be due and this may be the problem. This can hault the client's registration or renewal. If the domain is not due for payment, then escalate the ticket to Dougie. Otherwise there is a template in predefined replies starting with "uk domains". Please send the same according to the situation. Regards, Balu Smile
