Hello,

If you are migrating a reseller account, please observe these rules:

Does the reseller account include 3 private IP addresses? If not,
then migrate the whole reseller account. There is no DNS to update,
other than nameserver information on the individual domains, but the
reseller can do this in any case.

Reseller does have private IPs: Firstly, migrate all of the reseller
account as usual. Once this has been done please do the following:

1. Log into the new server's WHM where the reseller accounts have been
migrated and click "Add a New IP Address". Once this loads please add
an IP address (a list of IPs you can choose from is listed at the end
of this e-mail), and make sure the 'subnet mask' is 255.255.254.0.

2. From WHM, click "Reseller Center". Then select the reseller
account from the drop-down list and then click 'Manage IP Delegation'.
Restrict the reseller account to the IP address you added in step 1.
Go back one page and click 'Manage Main Shared/IPless IP'. Assign
the new IP address that you setup in step 1 to this reseller account.

3. Back into WHM, click "Change Multiple Sites' IP Addresses". Select
all accounts that are owned by the reseller and then click 'Change IPs
of Selected Accounts'. From the next page, please use the drop-down
list to use the IP address you selected back in step 1.

4. Log into the Master DNS Server's WHM (https://209.85.50.4:2087) and
add a new IP like you did back in step 1. Please ensure the 'subnet
mask' is 255.255.254.0.

5. Still in Master DNS' WHM, click "Add a DNS Zone". Type in the new
IP you have just set up, then for the 'domain' field, type in
NS1., where RESELLERACCOUNT.COM is the actual
reseller account. This will then setup the DNS zone across the cluster.

6. Log into the Slave DNS Server's WHM (https://209.85.50.5:2087) and
add a new IP like you did back in step 1. Please ensure the 'subnet
mask' is 255.255.254.0.

7. Still in Slave DNS' WHM, click "Add a DNS Zone". Type in the new
IP you have just set up, then for the 'domain' field, type in
NS2., where RESELLERACCOUNT.COM is the actual
reseller account. This will then setup the DNS zone across the cluster.

8. Do we manage the domain? If not, please advise the reseller of
the new IPs allocated to their account and request that they update
their nameservers with their registrar.

If we do manage the domain, and it's a .co.uk domain please update the
nameserver IPs at
https://secured.hosting-unlimited.net/dev/ns_changes.php. The format
for the nameservers (using reseller.co.uk as an example) is:

Domain Name: reseller.co.uk
Nameserver 1: NS1.RESELLER.CO.UK 172.198.200.100
Nameserver 2: NS2.RESELLER.CO.UK 172.198.200.101

Replace the actual IPs in the above example with the IPs you allocated
to the nameservers in steps 5 & 7.

If the domain is a .com or .net, log into eNom and navigate to DOMAINS
-> ADVANCED TOOLS -> REGISTER A NAME SERVER.

When the form loads, locate 'Update a NameServer IP' and type in
nameserver, the new IP address. You will also need to include the old
IP address. If you don't have access to this, please use this WHOIS:
http://registrar.verisign-grs.com/whois/.

You must update both nameservers!

9. Please e-mail me (at this address) to let me know which new IPs
you have used, and for what purpose. This is so I can monitor IP
address usage.

10. All done, please update the client of the new IPs and that we
have changed their DNS and go and enjoy a cup of tea :-7

Best wishes,
Kevin Austin

Hello Team,

Please update the IPs used for both the Resellers accounts and Normal accounts (SSL) in the forum thread:
/viewtopic.php?p=1170#1170

So that we can follow a single forum thread (above mentioned) for the IP usage

Thanks,
Jithesh
